    Seriously? Still on this?

Another reason the GOP is continuing to fall, ignorant things like this. With this and the tea-bagging that they started a month or so ago, come on? There's no face to the party (with Rush actually considered the speaker for them in a poll last week, no joke) plus this ridiculous stuff. Rally for something relevant for a change.

NEW YORK (CNN) ? Despite an apology Monday night from David Letterman, a protest rally outside of Letterman's Ed Sullivan Theater in New York will still go on as planned Tuesday, according to its organizer.

Political documentarian and conservative radio talk show host, John Ziegler, tells CNN that the point of the rally is to, "Raise awareness and get some sort of accountability."

He says that Letterman's apology, "Would have been fine had it come six days ago. This apology came seven days after the fact and his first apology was completely self serving." He added, "We think our voices should still be heard."

The protest is scheduled to take place as Letterman begins taping Tuesday's program. The group is angry over a joke the talk show host told related to the family of Sarah Palin.

Ziegler could not confirm how many of the more than 2,000 people he originally indicated would be attending had canceled. The rally's page on Facebook has approximately 200 confirmed guests. 1,383 have declined the invitation since the Letterman apology.

A significant number of the people who are attending list their residence as out of state.

Ziegler, who produced "Media Malpractice: How Obama Got Elected and Palin was Targeted" is also promoting his upcoming film, "Blocking the Path to 9/11."

Right there's your motivation for the rally...not to "raise awareness and get some sort of accountability", it's to shill his documentary film work. I hadn't heard of this cat nor had I heard of his films yet until this article--same will go for a lot of other people when this rally goes as planned.

Oh I'm sorry, I didn't know Letterman was a member of the Obama administration or the DNC for that matter. He's a comedian who made a joke about an 18 year old, so again how does that fall under the pot and kettle argument. That's right, it doesn't..Obama or administration didn't go after Palins daughters at all then or now.

just give it up, its obvious its not about right or wrong, its about twisting the way things REALLY happened to try and make your backwoods racist ideology seem ok.

seeing as how apparently david letterman is a huge dem. and should be held accoutable like a political pundit. :/

    Re: Seriously? Still on this?

IMHO the Davis letterman comment was no differant than the "Nappy headed Hos" thing from a few years ago.

Neather was a good Idea but I think it is overkill for eaither of those guys to lose there job over it....

That being said the same type of people should have been equaly upset/appathetic over both comments.....that being said that never seems to be the case in matters like this

The comment was about the 14 year old not the 18 year old no matter what Letterman 2 days later after he was called on it tried to say. How on earth you can possibly believe that he wasn't talking about the daughter that was there at the game but the one that was 2000 miles away in Alaska is laughable.

My response was about the way the dem's went after Palin and her daughter being pregnant out of wedlock during the campaign but made it clear noone could say a word about any of bama's family.

Actually, Bristol Palin wasn't a the game. Their daughter Willow (14) was there.

You're right. Neither Obama nor his administration went after the Palin's daughters. He actually said to leave the family out of the politics. I commend him on that. However, I do find myself quite annoyed at many of his supporters who found it necessary to crucify Sarah Palin and her daughter Bristol for her getting pregnant at age 17.

But if you are going to criticize Republicans for getting upset over this then you should know that if the same thing was directed toward Obama's family then the Democrats wouldn't be reacting any differently.

It was about Bristol, no matter how bad you or the Palins try to spin it. When it was said, the whole world knew which daughter he was talking about. I, myself didn't even know who Willow was. Do you seriously think he knew who was even at that game? He was his fault he didn't make it clear though and the Palins jumped on it. They spun the whole thing grossly and said some pretty disgusting things themselve.\

    1) The joke was about Bristol, plain and simple.
    2) Bristol is an adult.
    3) Bristol has a child.
    4) Bristol is like any other, fair game to take shots...apparently she likes taking them
    5) Why would she be spared from jokes? See 2 and 3.

She wasn't crucified, but a lot of supporters brought it up because it was a little ironic being who she is and what happened. Obama's girls are 10 and 7 I think, so if a joke like this was made..it'd definitely be a little different. This is nothing but a political ploy by the Palins to stay relevant, a little proof...

Last September, a skit on Saturday Night Live suggested incest in the Palin family. "What about the husband?" asked a mock Times reporter. "You know he's doing those daughters. I mean, come on. It's Alaska!" No outrage. Sarah Palin appeared on the show one month later btw.

Days after the announcement of Bristol's pregnancy, Conan O'Brien joked, "It's true, John McCain's running mate, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, has revealed that her 17-year-old daughter is pregnant. Palin said, 'We should never have introduced her to John Edwards.'" Where was the outrage?

"All the Republicans are heaping praise on Governor Palin. Fred Thompson said, as an actor, he could see them making a movie about Sarah Palin and her family. Didn't they already make that movie? I think it was called 'Knocked Up!'"--Jay Leno...Outrage anyone?

"According to expense reports, Sarah Palin charged the state of Alaska over $21,000 for her children to travel with her on official business. In fairness to Gov. Palin, when she leaves them home alone they get pregnant." --Seth Meyers (SNL). Sarah Palin was in a sketch with Meyers a week earlier.

And one very similar to Letterman...

"Saturday night, Sarah Palin is going to drop the first puck at the Philadelphia Flyers' hockey game. Then Palin will spend the rest of the game trying to keep the hockey players out of her daughter's penalty box." Conan said that and Palin walked out on the ice with six year old Piper and 13 year old Willow...not Bristol, but everyone knew which daughter he was talking about then. No outrage though.

It was spun completely and Palin has acted just as "disgusting" through this.
